Released: July 1969 [5] Green River is the third studio album by American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, released on August 7, 1969 by Fantasy Records. It was the second of three albums they released in that year, preceded by Bayou Country in January and followed by Willy and the Poor Boys in November.
Creedence Clearwater Revival announced their split on Oct. 16, 1972. Tom Fogerty finally departed the band in 1971, and for the group's next album, John Fogerty told his remaining bandmates
They would occasionally be a backing band for Tom Fogerty before he eventually joined the band. They went through a few names before settling on Creedence Clearwater Revival, including Vision and The Golliwogs. They released their first album under Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1968, which was self-titled.
