Can I suggest this- if using a console, try connecting a computer and using it as a hotspot, then connect your console to the hotspot and retry, it was a method I used to allow me to connect to another console for multiplayer session on the same network.

Add the following URLs to this list: Save the changes and exit the router settings. Restart your router to apply the changes. Relaunch Fae Farm and check whether the multiplayer works. Hopefully, you should now be able to play with friends without encountering the online multiplayer issue.
For me and my friend it takes a couple of seconds before the games shows up. Make sure you activated UPnP both in game and your/your friends router. if you want to play multiplayer you need to get up at 5:30am and set up your game. before anyone else is trying. seems the game doesnt have the capacity to support all the people who have purchased

I know I'm late to the party here, but I stumbled upon this post on Google, and found an easier solution in case anyone else finds themselves here with a similar issue on Xbox: All I had to do was quit and restart the game. I could be wrong, but I believe that Xbox's "Quick Resume" feature is to blame. Good luck, all you future Google users.
